Unsealed Snickers Bar (Snickers FAIL)

Have you ever had an unsealed Snickers Bar?

I recently bought a holiday bag of Snickers and actually got several unsealed Snickers Bars. When I reached in and grabbed some, the 3 packs I grabbed were all unsealed. I ate 2 of them and they tasted a little off and powdery. Then when I grabbed another pack, I realized that this one was sealed.

The following are some unsealed Snickers I encountered.

As you can see from the packaging, the Snickers were never sealed before.

Well, very soon after consuming these unsafe "Unsealed" Snickers, I had a stomach upset, and felt a little sick.

I wonder how could such a thing happen in the US with the food and safety standards we have here!

Unsealed Snickers is an Unsafe Snickers!

I am pretty shocked by this incident, and will definitely look at Snickers in a different way now. I sure hope they could explain what had happen and what are they going to do about it.

Cummings came during TSA Patdown... Literally

Man arrested after ejaculating during TSA pat-down

A 47 year old gay man was arrested at San Francisco International Airport after ejaculating while being patted down by a male TSA agent. Percy Cummings, an interior designer from San Francisco, is being held without bail after the alleged incident, charged with sexually assaulting a Federal agent.

According to Cummings’ partner, Sergio Armani, Cummings has “multiple piercings on his manhood” which were detected during a full body scan. As a result, Cummings was pulled aside for a pat-down. Armani stated that the unidentified TSA agent spent “an inordinate amount of time groping” Cummings, who had apparently become sexually aroused. Cummings, who has a history of sexual dysfunction, ejaculated while the TSA agent’s hand was feeling the piercings. The TSA agent, according to several witnesses, promptly called for back up. Cummings was thrown to the ground and handcuffed.

A TSA spokesperson declined to comment on this specific case, but said that anyone ejaculating during a pat-down would be subject to arrest.

Wow, the keywords are AWESOME With a name like Cummings, you know... he might (or had) to be errr...

This headlines would make people read the news more:
"TSA gropes pierced manhood, and gay man ejaculated and arrested after pat down."

LOL,

The Government Controlled Media

When a foreign newspaper reports something negative about Singapore, I do not understand why there is a defensive behavior to justify things that does not need justification.

Child-porn owning student an MOE scholar

"Singaporean Jonathan Wong, a third-year history major at the University of York, pleaded guilty on Monday to 17 charges of owning child pornography videos since July 2008. "

When the news came out in the UK and later in the US, there was an initial denial that this Singaporean is a prestigious scholar from the ministry of education in Singapore -- a man that would mould young minds. However, when enough facts surfaced, somehow the local newspapers (or the government) felt that they had to do something, and this crappy article appeared on the Newspapers today.

How to tell if someone is into child pornography

Spending an excessive amount of time online and being evasive about one's activities are some tell-tale signs that a person could be indulging in child pornography, according to psychiatrists whom MediaCorp spoke to.

Schoolteachers who notice behavioural changes, such as an outgoing character becoming withdrawn, should inform the child's parents immediately, as these could be warning signs, said the medical director of The Psychological Wellness Centre, Dr Nelson Lee.

Dr Lee said that past childhood experiences or being involved with peers who normalise child pornography could result in a person seeking pleasure from watching such videos.

Psychological intervention is important to ensure the person recovers from such problems, experts said.

Senior consultant psychiatrist Parvathy Pathy at the Institute of Mental Health said that a patient's unfulfilled needs, which may manifest in addictions, must be addressed and other underlying issues must also be treated.

"It's however not easy to detect symptoms as most people keep such behaviour private and are able to compartmentalise their lives very well that they act normally on a daily basis," said senior consultant and psychiatrist Ken Ung of the Adam Road Medical Centre.

Psychometric tests during scholarship selection processes will also not be able to detect these behavioural issues, he added. NG JING YNG

Wow, seriously, this is one of the worst articles I've read on the news -- ever!

The annoying Singapore SMRT Jingle

You probably have heard it, and it is really getting old and annoying.

In fact, I kinda loathe the Dim Sum Dollies now.

This is the original Jingle

I've asked many people if they can tell me what the jingle is about and they probably got this one right.

"Lain is coming, lain is coming, lain is cominggg. Gets starts queuing. Love and ride." Said a 48 year old lady.

"Train is coming, Train is coming, Train is comingggg. Keep it coming.. Lose your life." says my 70 year old mom.

Pretty close to the jingle I guess, the meaning is there.

Then the second Jingle.

"Inside, inside, inside, insideeeee... You can be smooth inside. Love your rice."
Said a 50 year old man when I asked him what he heard.

-- HAHA.

The third Jingle (end of the video)

"Give up, giddy up, gimme your shit. To those who eat... Love and ride. *ding dong*" Said a 10 year old boy living in my HDB block.

I don't think he got the message at all.

Anyway, What was the message if people can't understand the jingle at all, what do you hear?

EZ-LINK CARD, WHICH YOU CANNOT USE TO TOP UP ITSELF!

New POSB Everyday Card...

Well, a new Credit Card, new design, new functions... It should be all good right?

WRONG!!

I don't understand what they were thinking when they came out with the design of the card.

The New features that give you peace of mind and more convenience (Really??)

Link your savings and/or current account to your new POSB Everyday Card and use it as an ATM Card at over 1000 DBS/POSB ATMs islandwide.
Enjoy improved security with an EMV Smart Chip embedded in your new POSB Everyday Card. This new technology can reduce the chances of your card information being cloned and used by fraud syndicates for illegal transactions.
Experience contactless payment with MasterCard® Paypass™ for purchases of $100 and below at over 800 shops & restaurants in Singapore, no signature required! With this new payment functionality, you can now enjoy the convenience of having your transactions put through in a matter of seconds!
Your new POSB Everyday Card works like an ez-link card, which you can easily top up at the following places:
  • DBS/POSB ATMs
  • General Ticketing Machines (GTM)
  • Add Value Machines (AVM)
  • Transitlink ticket office at bus interchanges and train stations
Charge your insurance, town council service and conservancy charges/license fees and other recurring bills to your POSB Everyday Card and never lose track of your bills again. Plus earn cash rebates, hassle-free! Click here for more details and frequently asked questions on the new POSB Everyday Card.

As I already own a ez-link card, I now cannot put my ez-link card in my wallet. It does not work if I have both cards even when the POSB card has no value inside.

I decided to just use my new POSB card, and thought it was good as now I carry 1 less card. But when I was at the machine, I realized one thing.

YOU NEED TO PUT THE FUCKING CARD ON THE MACHINE, AND IF YOU WANT TO PAY BY NETS (MOST MACHINES ACCEPT ONLY NETS) WHEN YOU TAKE THE EZ-LINK CARD (WHICH IS YOUR NETS CARD) THE MACHINE RESETS.

THIS SYSTEM IS FAIL! YOU HAVE EZ-LINK CARD, WHICH YOU CANNOT USE TO TOP UP ITSELF! THIS SYSTEM IS FAIL! YOU HAVE EZ-LINK CARD, WHICH YOU CANNOT USE TO TOP UP ITSELF! THIS SYSTEM IS FAIL! I will never use this card as it is now worthless in my wallet, just simply an inconvenience.

Was I given a choice when they send me a new card and discontinue my old card?

Singapore - Non-Eco-friendly

I don't understand the over reliance on plastic in Singapore. My mom will ask for "Extra plastic bags" from the supermarket, just to throw them away at home, citing "They are free bags, so take loh." and "What if the bags break while I carry my groceries, need to double or triple bag them."

I can't remember the last time I had fast food before today, but I remembered that everywhere I go, I get take away in brown paper bag. I don't know when it started but getting fast food in plastic bag is just weird. When I get food in paper bag, I recycle the paper bag, and when I get it in the plastic bag, it gets tossed in the bin.

When I asked McDonalds, there is not an option for paper bags anymore. I believe Singapore is the only country where McDonalds do not offer paper bags. There is lots of talk on Green, but absolutely no action. I'm very disappointed.

What Grinds my Gears!

With the increased in population, the Public Transportation in Singapore is constantly running at "FULL CAPACITY" Even when they say that trains will run at a 2 minute interval, I was shocked to see the trains run at 1 min / 6 min during 6pm today, and as I have thought, I could not get on -- BOTH TRAINS.

It is very simple to say, that the people in the country is not ready to deal with the additional crush of immigrants and tourists. There are also many inconsiderate people adding to the problem.

The following are things that piss me off.

1) People on their phones, or playing games while at the doors of the MRT trains.

These people like to crowd around the doors of the trains, preventing people from getting in and out of the Train and pretending that there is no one around them -- even though they are in the way of most people.

2) People with Baby Strollers.

Going up and down the escalators endanger your kid. Why the hell do you need to bring your kid out and take the MRT during peak hours? Strollers take up so much space, and when inconsiderate people block the entrances and exits, it just gets infuriating.

3) People who sit on the floor of the MRT Trains.

Yes, some of the trains do not have seats. Sitting on the floor!!! The reason why these trains do not have seats is because they want to pack more people. Sitting on the floor takes up so much space!

4) People blocking entrances of the Train.

I could say that a lot of new immigrants, domestic maids and "Kiasu Aunties" fall under this category of NEEDING TO ENTER THE TRAIN BEFORE PEOPLE COME OUT.

Singapore would be a nice place if everyone just show a little more Graciousness.

Wonderful Planning Work.

I was away from Toa Payoh for a bit and I noticed new "Block" signs which light up at night getting installed. It felt like a good idea, perhaps to help people navigate at night, however, I realized that there seemed to be 2 lighted signs on every point block.

After searching around for some of them in the day, I realized that for most blocks in Toa Payoh Blk 81 area, there is one sign visible and the other sign hidden. I do understand that with 2 signs, you can get a coverage of every block and view it from many different angles, however I really doubt if the person that came out with the idea, really going down to check what was happening on the ground.

I realized that 1 sign was always blocked and HIDDEN from view, yet it continues to light up at night. When I highlighted it to the town council in a friendly phone call, the response was, "NOT MY PROBLEM, CALL HDB" And this is a wayyyyy overused excuse.

It brought me to recall my previous interactions with the POLICE here in Singapore.

1) When I pointed out that there is a car without license plate parking around the corner to a few policemen in a patrol car, they informed me that it is LTA's problem, and not their problem.

2) When I pointed out to a policeman by the road that there are a few "Weekend plate" cars driving without a permit in the wrong direction on the road, they told me that it is the responsibility of the traffic police.

Back to the lighted signboards. I do not understand why the planning for such "Upgrading" us always so "Perfect" and when the new lighted block signages are up, they decided to paint the block.

It is lucky as the plastic for the board on Blk 81 is still there, and they could take it off after painting, but for the other blocks, they need to paint around the signboards and ensure paint does not drip on them. (if they do not get painted over)

Would it not be easier to paint over the blocks then install the signboards?

Is it that difficult for the people who propose the location of the new signages come and look at what is really happening on the ground?

These problems will always exist when you have public servants working for HIGH salary, and not because they are passionate to serve.

WTF POSB?

With all the rules and regulations of banks in Singapore, I can't believe that I received a credit card cum debit card from POSB, ready to use out from the envelop!

I do not need to call and activate, or do anything at all! It arrived and its ready to use.

Getting a pin number for internet banking would require me to go to the bank, sign a form, wait 5 business days for activation, and then it comes with tons of passwords which MOSTLY allows me to view my account balance.

This is highly dangerous as now, with housing so expensive, families probably could rent out a room. Mailing credit cards ACTIVATED is like mailing cash.

The experience of security is not consistent, and I feel these inconsistencies ONLY screws the consumer more.

Waste of Electricity in Toa Payoh.

I have no idea what they are celebrating, but this is the back of a carpark in Toa Payoh, which seemed to be lit up for god knows how long.

I know of a few friends who light up their homes during Christmas, but not SO MANY TREES in the neighborhood. LED Lights when used to highlight a shape or design a pattern, can make landscape look interesting, however, when you just have too much of it, I find it rather offensive, and a waste of energy.

Remember, this is just a carpark, where not a lot of people walk to as there is a HUGE HDB Hub carpark in Toa Payoh Central. Why the lights??

In Toa Payoh Central, there are also a lot of lights along the street on both sides. Clearly, too much that it makes the street ugly. Well National Day is over, are you going to leave the lights on till New Year?

In fact I can't remember a time this year that I've not seen the lights not being on at night.

Ferrari 612 GTO?

I'd always admired Ferrari for the Pininfarina design -- bold and different.

But the new 612 GTO seemed to miss the mark for me for sleek Italian. I can't recognize the Ferrari in it.
Definitely feels like a Japanese / American muscle mix in there.

This car designed by Sasha Selipanov (German), not ugly, but it looks familiar...

Chevy C3R or the 1968 Stingray.

And Talk about the front.

Looks a little familiar too.

Perhaps Nissan like?

And from the rear,

It cries out Camaro!

or at least Aston Martin

What do you think?

Tablet Wars

There is going to be a tablet war... And blood will hit the streets soon.

Looking at the various OS, I can see Windows 8, Apple OS, and Andriod systems on them, and even from before the iPad launch, there are already many good tablets on the market.

Motion's J3400 rugged tablet PC boasts dual batteries, outdoor display. This tablet looks pretty solid, and as with many other tech products, it becomes obsolete pretty fast when Andriod 2.2 tablets and the iPad is launched.

I was actually interested in Archos 5, but when I searched more, I discovered tons of Chinese Andriod tablets out, many of them very very cheap, and with decent specs.

Samsung on the other hand has one that is very pretty, and very good specs. However, it seemed a little overpriced to me.

At US$1000, it is pretty much overpriced compared to Archos 5 160 GB at US$310.

In fact, with the Dells and large China manufacturers coming into the market, I would say that the tablet market would make tablets very cheap, and I've seen some going for US$150 for 8GB with Android 2.2 OS.

Although I know that the iPad, made by Foxconn is responsible for the suicides, with child labor and long working hours, it is very hard for me to pay more than $500 for a tablet, and the choices are simply mindboggling.

GPS, Camera, memory, Hard disk, battery life, 3G, Wifi, bluetooth, USB ports, memory ports... Too many things to consider makes shopping for tablet hard.

In this tablet war, I guess the consumers may win in terms of price and choice, but for the manufacturers, I am not sure if anyone could be a winner.
